Documentation and Support

Good software is more than a file.

A supportable release needs accurate requirements, a dependable installation path, version history, known limitations, useful diagnostics, and a documented way to recover when something goes wrong.

Set Expectations Before Download

Product-specific facts control.

Each released product identifies its requirements, supported and tested environment, installation and recovery information, release notes, known limitations, contact path, and update eligibility.

A product page, order, paid support plan, or signed project agreement may provide different terms from the general information here.

Standard Boundaries

Included information. Separately scoped work.

Victory does not currently advertise a general ongoing software maintenance agreement. Product- or project-specific support can be quoted when its scope and service level can be stated responsibly.

A Standard Release May Include

Published product information

  • Installation and configuration documentation
  • Requirements and tested compatibility
  • Release notes and known limitations
  • The general support contact named by the product
  • Generally released updates for eligible entitlements

Usually Quoted Separately

Professional and custom services

  • On-site or remote access to a customer system
  • RTI, ELK, HVAC, AV, network, or third-party programming
  • Installation, wiring, commissioning, backup, or recovery
  • Custom features and added device support
  • Guaranteed response, after-hours work, or monitoring
  • Branding, private-label builds, and branded updates

Before Requesting Help

Bring safe, specific information.

  • Product name and exact version
  • Relevant hardware, controller, and firmware versions
  • What was expected and what occurred
  • Safe reproduction steps and approximate event time
  • Diagnostic messages with credentials and personal data removed
  • Recent system, network, firmware, or programming changes

Do not send passwords, private keys, live tokens, protected health information, payment-card data, or another customer’s confidential material through the general inquiry form.

Release States

Know what kind of build you are using.

Stable
Released for ordinary production use.
Beta
Available only for approved testing and may change before stable release.
Archived
Retained for a documented reason and may no longer receive ordinary support.
Withdrawn
Removed from ordinary access because of a material defect, security issue, rights problem, or unsafe incompatibility.

Updates and Compatibility

Third-party systems can change.

Hardware, firmware, APIs, operating systems, development tools, and vendor rules can change outside Victory’s control. Restoring compatibility may require a new release or separately quoted development work.

A standard download does not promise indefinite updates or compatibility with every future third-party change. Check the product record before updating a connected production system.
